Transport
Transport to skiing destinations usually requires car travel and carpooling is encouraged where possible. Those obtaining a lift need to travel to a place which is convenient for the person giving the lift. All costs of the driver need to be shared by passengers. This will include gate entry, chain hire, and double the cost of the fuel to allow for general car running costs. Car pooling depends on the availability, location and leaving time of drivers so being able to obtain a lift is not guaranteed.
See the costs section below for more information on car travel.
Costs
Trip costs include, where applicable, accommodation, transport, resort gate entry, chain hire, gear hire (ski, boots, poles) and food, plus a small booking/admin fee.
The main trip costs will be shown on the trip program and on the trip's Meetup page. Trip prices may change - always check details with the Trip Leader.
Costs not shown on the program may include:
Fuel - A share of the cost of petrol to and from the trip destination.
The petrol sharing policy of the club is that the owner of the vehicle used for a trip should charge each passenger a maximum of the total dollar value of the petrol used multiplied by two and then divided by the total number of occupants (including driver) in the vehicle. Some owners may choose to charge less, but should never charge more.
This formula is intended to cover the cost to the owner of maintenance, wear & tear from driving, insurance, etc.
In Summary - Each passenger pays no more than: 2 x Cost ÷ Occupants
CityLink & EastLink Tolls - Cost divided by number of car occupants (including driver).
SnowChain hire - Cost divided by number of car occupants (including driver).
Resort Entry fees - Cost divided by number of car occupants (including driver).
Any trail fees, where applicable - Cost per individual.
Food - Cost per individual - unless documented as included in the trip fee.
Ski equipment hire - Cost per individual.
